Welcome to The Thought Leadership Content
at TAtech’s 2020 Digital Conferences

The TAtech – DirectEmployers Joint Digital Conference: “Strategic Conversations About Talent Acquisition – How Must the Funnel Change?” was held on November 12-13, 2020.

Unlike conventional online events, this conference brought together sixteen thought leaders – half drawn from employers and half from industry – to tackle eight topics that will shape talent acquisition in 2021 and beyond. As unusual as that was, they went even further and invited the audience to join them up on the virtual stage for an open discussion. The result was a free-wheeling dialogue that was thought-provoking, enlightening and unbelievably engaging.

Here are the recordings of the sessions:

“Is there such a thing as candidate empathy in an era of recruitment automation?”

discussed by Louis Naviasky, CEO of Bayard Advertising, and Marie Artim, VP Talent Acquisition at Enterprise Holdings.

“How can technology help an employer advance its D&I efforts?”

discussed by Thad Price, CEO of Talroo, and Julie Sowash, Executive Director of Disability Solutions.

“What steps should recruiters take to ensure they maximize their ROI in technology?”

discussed by Sarah Brennan, Founder of Accelir Insights, and Paul White, Director of Recruiting Operations at Kindred At Home.

“What’s the appropriate role for technology in a company that practices values-based recruitment?”

discussed by Fred Goff, CEO of Jobcase, and Charles Lilly, Manager HR Digital Transformation at KPMG.

“How should sourcing strategies change as top talent becomes more risk averse and passive?”

discussed by Chris Forman, CEO of Appcast.io, and Shelia Gray, Vice President of Talent Acquisition at Quadient.

“How should recruitment marketing change to respond to today’s social and economic dynamics?”

discussed by Tony Lee, VP-Editorial at SHRM, and Justin Clem Sr. Director Talent Acquisition & Management at Frontdoor.

“What can recruiters do to ensure their AI-based recruiting tools aren’t promoting bias?”

discussed by Jeanette Maister, MD & Head of Americas at Oleeo, and Gerri Allamby, Associate Compliance & Diversity Manager at Unilever.

“How do you deal with today’s application tidal wave and still provide a great candidate experience?”

discussed by Terry Baker, CEO of PandoLogic, and Shaunda Zilich, Global Talent Brand Manager at Qualtrics.

Post-Pandemic Planning: Recruitment Advertising After COVID-19

Once-in-a-lifetime events like Coronavirus can create paradigm shifts that reshape business buying patterns for years to come. It’s crucial to start planning for life and business in a post-pandemic world. Business patterns emerging in the immediate aftermath reflect a continuation of the trends we’ve already seen over the last decade, but in hyper speed. With the disrupted buying cycles happening amidst new labor dynamics, will you be in a position post Covid-19 to capitalize on this new market? This webinar will address the labor market changes, the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on job boards and Talent Acquisition organizations and discuss how using this transition to accelerate adoption of key market and technology trends will not only help soften the transition back but also put your organization in a position to capitalize on the new significant market opportunities that are emerging.

The Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Talent Acquisition

Recruitment teams are increasingly reliant on AI, machine learning and automation for sourcing, CRM and assessment, yet the use of these technologies has raised a number of ethical questions, from the potential for bias in data sets and algorithms to the potential elimination of human agency in the workplace.  A point-counter point discussion with the CEO of an AI company and a leading expert in the mitigation of bias in corporate tech products, exploring strategies for identifying and eliminating such prejudices.

TAtech White Paper: Job Board & TA Tech Company Valuation

Your Business Optimizer: Preparing for Investment & Acquisition

Hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in HR technology over the past decade, and most recently, the majority of those investments have been made in talent acquisition technology. At the same time, a significant number of TA tech companies have been acquired by larger companies, staffing firms and RPOs. The questions facing many job boards and other TA technology companies, therefore, is how are companies valued by prospective investors and buyers and what are the processes by which those transactions occur. An investment banker and former job board owner will brief on a major new White Paper he developed for TAtech. All attendees will receive a FREE copy of the White Paper.

Why Your CPC, Programmatic Ad Campaign is Undermining Your Diversity Hiring Efforts

Study after study show that the more diverse an employer, the more productive is that employer’s workforce. And yet many of those same employers are unknowingly undermining the years and even decades of investments they’ve made into diversifying their workforce by distributing their jobs on a cost-per-click and/or programmatic basis.  In this presentation, the CEO and president of a job board will outline how a rapidly increasing minority of employers are shifting their recruitment advertising campaigns away from traditional, duration-based campaigns with media often selected based on its audience and toward a more automated, CPC-based model where budgets are typically allocated to the lowest cost providers, regardless of audience. But instead of simply identifying the problem, the session will also propose solutions that will allow employers to further enhance their diversity hiring efforts while also taking advantage of the far more efficient and effective ways to buy recruitment advertising.
