Job Boards, Social Media Sites & Recruitment Advertising
Jobcase, a Boston, MA-based social platform focused on work, closed its Series A-1 funding round with an additional $11.5m. The round – which is on top of $7m in Series A funding led by Savano Capital Partners, and brings the total raised in 2017 to $18.5m – was led by Providence Equity Partners. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its growth rate. Source: FINSMES
TAtechEurope announced the addition of a new pre-conference Workshop entitled Transforming Your Job Board into a 21st Century Profit Center. The half-day workshop will explore new strategies, products and branding that can help job boards reset how they are perceived in the market and counter those who charge that “job boards are dead” or “old technology.”

Ceev, a Dutch app, launched to eliminate the hard work of creating a resume by converting any LinkedIn profile into a clean, neat, printable resume. Available as a free Chrome extension, it comes with a number of color schemes and templates, as well as the option to tinker with font sizes and styles. gr8 People, a Philadelphia, PA-based provider of enterprise recruiting software for corporate and recruiting process outsourcing (RPO) enterprises, raised $8m in Series B financing. The round, which brings total funding to date to $14m, was led by Ascent Venture Partners, with participation from Delancey Street Partners and Randstad Innovation Fund. The company plans to expand innovation and continue accelerating growth in existing and new markets, and facilitate expansion of its One-Experience Talent Platform. Source: FINSMES
HackerRank, the skills-based recruiting platform and online coding challenge community, today announced that it has raised a $30 million Series C funding round led by JMI Equity, a fund that specializes in helping software companies scale. Existing investors Khosla Ventures, Battery Ventures, Randstad and Chartline Capital Partners also participated in this round. The company is focusing on three areas: doubling down on customer acquisition and HackerRank’s go-to-market strategy, investing more in its community, and using machine learning and data science to better match employer and job seekers. ENGAGE Talent, an AI software company that helps companies identify and effectively engage with passive candidates, has raised $3 million in new funding. Participating investors include Revolution’s Rise of the Rest® Seed Fund, Refinery Ventures and Grand Ventures. The company will use the new funds to further develop its predictive recruiting technologies and to expand its science/R&D and success teams.
Singularity University (SU), a California Benefit Corporation that educates individuals and organizations on navigating accelerating technological change, announced that it has closed $32 million in Series B funding co-led by WestRiver Group and Boeing [NYSE: BA] with participation from Silicon Valley Bank, TAL Education Group, Mukita, and PeopleFund. The investment will help to support SU’s mission of educating leaders globally on how to use exponential technologies (such as artificial intelligence, precision medicine, nanotechnology, virtual reality and more) to tackle humanity’s grand challenges.
