At some point, the citizens of Facebook are going to want a say in how their tax data is spent. At the moment, the meta-country of Facebook is subject to the laws and regulations of the physical countries its physical citizens live in. If Facebook doesn’t lead, others will fill the vacuum.

Randall-Reilly announced that it has completed the acquisition of Smart Rhino Labs, which offers recruiting services in the trucking industry. Randall-Reilly is the leading provider of B2B data and data-driven marketing services, media and events for the trucking, construction, agriculture and additional industrial markets. Vangst, the leading employment resource for the cannabis industry, today announced $2.5 million in seed round funding to accelerate its rapid growth, continue scaling and expand into newly legalized markets. The round was led by Lerer Hippeau, a New York-based venture capital firm that invests globally. Casa Verde Capital, a venture capital firm focusing on the ancillary cannabis industry, also invested in the round to support Vangst’s mission of defining the cannabis job market. Vangst will use the funding to continue growing their jobs marketplace in addition to improving their already state-of-the-art recruiting technology. Sourcing, Matching, Assessing, Communicating (SMAC) Technology
eJobXchange has launched a unique and interactive crowd-sourcing virtual social recruiting network called the job Xchange platform. Its goal is to find great candidates that companies may otherwise miss or overlook by leveraging a network of thousands of virtual social recruiting professionals willing to share job postings on their social media accounts. This enables eJobXchange to bring in qualified candidates, particularly candidates who may not be actively looking for a new job, cost effectively for their partners. Source: Media Release
Jackonville Florida based randrr, a free and private career insights platform has announced that it has acquired privately held Anthology (formerly Poachable), an anonymous career-matching platform. Anthology matches people with new career opportunities anonymously through an entirely automated process. According to the press release, “By leveraging Anthology’s technology and member base, randrr will be able to expand its reach and enhance its list of offerings to users, which currently includes: reliable job searches, resume boost, salary comparison, company insights, automation of dream job skills matching, and marketability. AI & Machine Learning
AllyO, a provider of AI recruiting technology, is emerging from stealth and announcing a $14 million round of funding led by Bain Capital Ventures and joined by Cervin Ventures, Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI fund), and Randstad Innovation Fund. Indy Guha, partner at Bain Capital Ventures, is joining AllyO’s board. “Businesses are finding that traditional recruiting means are insufficient to keep today’s candidates engaged,” said Guha. “But key breakthroughs in natural language processing and conversational AI, together with the ubiquity of smartphones, can transform how businesses conduct recruiting. AllyO’s AI-first approach is perfectly positioned to lead the way. Microsoft Pix, an app available for iOS devices, uses artificial intelligence to detect the data of a business card and then searches LinkedIn for the profile of that person to connect the user with them instantly. Tempo, a London, UK-based video based recruitment platform using artificial intelligence, raised £1m in seed funding. The round was led by company builder Hambro Perks. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development of its tech platform and to expand further within London. Launched in May 2017 by Ben Chatfield and Ollie Povey, Tempo leverages video technology and artificial intelligence to allow companies to instantly hire quality candidates for temporary office/admin roles quickly. The company says its fastest placement took 27 minutes. Tempo also partners with Pitman Training, which grants 40,000 yearly graduates to the platform. Source: Finsmes

A NJ-based business software expert has launched a revolutionary career portal system at Kickstarter that aims to bring the best in job seekers before employers through the help of state of the art Artificial Intelligence technology.
